Let's have a slight intermission, shall we....
Let's hide away from this harsh Summer heat (umm... unless you're in the Southern Hemisphere... In which case, you might want to cuddle up next the fire place...), and indulge in some very British Christmas nostalgia! =)
Okay... I'll be honest with you. I took this picture around Christmas time last year. The reason I'm posting it here, now, is that I completely forgot to take a picture today ::sheepish grin:: But, I really like this picture! Some back story, yes? Okay.
I work with kids and, as such, when the holiday season rolls around I like to engage them in little Christmas themed fun. So, this year, I went ahead and made TONS of Christmas Crackers from scratch! In case you don't know what a cracker is... they're great fun! LOL. But, seriously, they're a British Christmas tradition. Basically, two people take hold of each end of this candy shaped cracker and pull until the cracker breaks apart (producing a cracking sound... hence the name) and a bunch of goodies spill out! Or, if they don't spill out, the person with the bigger piece keeps the goodies! The goodies are pretty lame, but that's kind of the fun of these things. Mine had the traditional crown, candy, confetti, stickers, and a small toy.
They were a huge hit with the kids!
